2006 Bmw X5 Engine Failsafe Program. When this happens the transmission is usually warm. The car only goes in reverse and it wont move but it start up. Engine Failsafe Prog 4X4 Brake etc. Took it to a BMW specialist were my nieghboor happens to work.
This week with no notice while driving normally I got Stability Control Fail and FailSafe Engine Mode and wtih great difficulty got the car back to where I started from less than a mile. A crank position sensor failure will cause a Trans fail and could prevent the engine from starting. The car only goes in reverse and it wont move but it start up. Found this weird issue with a customers car and I thought I would post it for others to share. Like it if this helped you. MAS is a big flag for program failsafe with rough idle and almost no gas pedal response.
