Bmw X5 Transmission Reset Trick. In fact most of the diagnostics and displays are run by computer. First 80K it just stopped though engine revd. Next press the Trip button a second time and then hold until Reset appears. I got the nerve and implemented the Adaptive Automatic Transmission resetkey on acc only gas pedal to the floor for 30 secondsand then start engine.
The e70 line differs from its successor the e53 in that the e70 does not have a manual shifter option. First 80K it just stopped though engine revd. When the trans place opened it up they said the trans oil was burned so they rebuilt it for 2500. Next press the Trip button a second time and then hold until Reset appears. I have had to have my BMW X5 2004 transmission rebuilt TWICE in the last 2 years. You need to press and hold the Trip button on the instrument panel until the red light comes on.
